––  WOVEN
At the heart of any weave is a cross. Yes, as a boy I saw a cross several times each week poised at the front of the church, and while the cross form, like the circle form, is archetypal for me, the meaning goes far beyond religion. My favorite artist is Anton Tapiès who uses the cross through much of his work, not as a religious emblem but as an ancient sign of our humanity and its numberless turbulent crossings. It is a mystical, magnificent, troublesome shape.
